"The story my kids will tell someday depends on me. I am writing their book, and I want their childhood chapters full of traditions and stories and memories of the comforts of home."
~Kelle Hampton
I was reading through Kelle's blog Enjoying the Small Things and she had written the quote above. It is so true, and so what I try to do. I want my kids to remember their childhood like I remember mine! Full of life, crafts, laughter, fun, play, traditions, and most importantly love. I think sometimes Jonathan thinks the things I do with the kids are silly and that they will never remember making a craft or dancing with their daddy, but it is amazing the things kids remember and cherish. Jordyn is the most excited about doing some of the simplest things we do each day and I love the excitement in her eyes and in her voice when she talks about moving the ghost on our Halloween countdown or doing a cute craft while her brother is sleeping and we are having "girl time". I am in awe of my children and want them to have the best childhood that I can give them so when they look back 20 years from now they will have a wonderful story to tell.
